On April 24 (US time), Halozyme announced that it has filed a patent lawsuit against our partner, MSD.
As you may know, MSD has filed Post-Grant Review (PGR) petitions against ten of Halozyme’s Mdase-related patents from November last year through this month.

 

The specific details of the complaint submitted by Halozyme have not yet been confirmed due to timing, but based on public information and recent developments, we presume that the lawsuit concerns the patents currently under PGR review.

As we have stated on several occasions, we have already completed a comprehensive analysis of the Mdase patents through various methods. Our findings are largely consistent with the arguments MSD presented in its PGR filings, and we believe there is a high likelihood that Halozyme’s Mdase patents will be invalidated.

Accordingly, our position remains unchanged. ALT-B4 and Mdase are clearly distinct substances from a patent perspective. Even after the WSJ report in March that raised these patent issues, we have continued to expand our partnerships with multiple global pharmaceutical companies.
